(Frederick, Maryland) Frederick County Commissioner Charles Jenkins has accomplished a major political feat, not achievable by most mild mannered politicians, by totally changing his position on two major issues in the same week.
First Charles voted correctly against raising property taxes, after previously voting wrongly the last two years to raise property taxes on struggling homeowners in Frederick County. Then Charles stated to the Gazette on May 20, 2009 (Trip to Pa. Convinces Jenkins that Frederick Should Build Incinerator) he would now vote to build a trash incinerator in Frederick County, three weeks after he voted against the incinerator. This means he was for the incinerator, before he was against it, before he was for it.
Michael Hough, candidate for the Maryland House of Delegates stated, “We need leaders who will make decisions based on conviction rather than sticking their finger in the air and voting whichever way the political wind is blowing. The citizens of Frederick County deserve consistent leadership instead of constant flip flopping. Congratulations for flipping the right way on taxes after being wrong, but can you flip back on incinerator because now you are wrong.
